Deeper Reads Collection

Deeper content. Same CTS mission.

Introducing the Deeper Reads Collection from CTS.

More than a booklet. Not quite a paperback. Just right. The Deeper Reads Collection from CTS offer the perfect balance: portable, affordable, and rich in spiritual depth.

What is the Deeper Reads Collection?

Traditionally, CTS has been known for our A6 booklets. These have long helped readers grow in faith without the need to read lengthy volumes. They offer excellent introductions to key topics and, thanks to their compact size, are easy to carry with you, whether you need a prayer book for Eucharistic Adoration or something thoughtful to read while travelling.

Many of our readers have told us how much they value this portability. At the same time, some subjects require greater depth than a small booklet can reasonably provide. That is why we have introduced a new format: larger than an A6 booklet, yet smaller than a standard paperback. These books remain light enough to carry with you and more affordable than full-size editions, but they allow for deeper exploration of a topic.

Ideal for those who want to grow in faith but find long books daunting or difficult to fit into the busyness of daily life, our Deeper Reads Collection offers substantial spiritual content in a concise and approachable format.

How big are the books in the Deeper Reads Collection?

This helpful image, created approximately to scale, shows you the size of CTS Deeper Reads compared with a standard paperback book and an A6 booklet. As you can see, it fits nicely in size between the two: more substantial than an A6 booklet, but more approachable than a larger paperback.

These photos taken of actual CTS books also help to see the difference in size:

What kind of books can I find in the Deeper Reads Collection?

The Deeper Reads Collection offers books that provide a more substantial exploration of the Catholic faith than is possible in a traditional A6 booklet. These books are written for those who want to delve more deeply into a subject without committing to a full-length paperback. They remain portable and accessible, but with greater scope for explanation, reflection, and formation.

In this collection, you will find thoughtful and reverent treatments of theology, Church teaching, lives of the saints, prayer, Catholic history, contemporary challenges, and spiritual growth. The writing is clear and engaging, often enriched with Scripture, the witness of the saints, and the wisdom of the Church. Whether reflecting on a line of the Creed, exploring a particular devotion, or examining the relevance of faith in today’s world, each book invites the reader to go further in understanding and living out the Catholic faith.

Some titles are new works, written to answer the needs of today’s Catholics; others are expansions of our best-loved A6 booklets, reworked into this longer format to offer a fuller treatment of the same important themes.

This is a collection for those who wish to grow in faith through deeper reading that remains firmly rooted in the tradition of the Church.

Will CTS continue to produce A6 booklets?

Yes, absolutely. The A6 booklet has been at the heart of CTS’s mission for generations, and it remains a key part of our publishing work today. These pocket-sized booklets are valued for their clarity, portability, and affordability, making them ideal for personal reading, parish outreach, sacramental preparation, and evangelisation.

We remain fully committed to the A6 format and will continue to produce new titles in this trusted and familiar style. At the same time, we now have the flexibility to choose the most appropriate format for each new publication. Some topics are best suited to the succinct and focused nature of a booklet, while others benefit from the space a longer format provides to explore a subject in greater depth.

By offering both A6 booklets and our new Deeper Reads format, we can serve a wider range of needs, helping readers whether they are looking for a quick introduction to a topic or seeking a fuller, more reflective engagement with the truths of the faith.
