Preparation for marriage is a time of great excitement. However, it is too easy to get swept along on the tide of wedding planning, with its endless lists to make, menus to select, and colour schemes to choose.

Cherishing Your Wedding: Preparing Couples for Marriage in the Catholic Church is a comprehensive and user-friendly guide, which covers everything you need to know to create a beautiful ceremony and to prepare for married life thereafter.

It addresses both the practical and spiritual aspects of planning a Catholic wedding, including giving an authentic perspective on what marriage is, a review of the promises you will make during the wedding ceremony and an overview of the various elements of the ceremony itself, both within and outside of Holy Mass. It also covers some common questions and concerns, including the requirements of mixed marriages. Each chapter concludes with suggested practical tips, points of reflection and a prayer.

This invaluable resource is ideal for anyone who wishes to get married in a Catholic church, as well as for marriage ministers and catechists to use with couples, as they accompany them on their journey to the altar.

‘It's great! We really liked it and have found it very helpful. The book is a very practical companion in the busy months leading up to the wedding, with lots of tips, to-do things, even the suggestions for music and Mass readings, all of which save time and are extremely useful. It also guides through various aspects and stages of marriage preparation, from the engagement to the sacrament of marriage to the start of married life. We particularly enjoyed the suggestions for reflection and conversation, and set aside some time every weekend to discuss these rather than just focus on wedding planning. We also used the prayer suggestions that have certainly enriched our prayer life. The book also includes explanations to many important questions that young couples face. As lawyers, we appreciated the succinct but thorough answers with references to Canon Law. We were also very impressed with the graphic design, the quality of the publication and the colourful pictures that serve as a good illustration of the topics covered by the book. We would recommend the book to anyone preparing for marriage - it is a great addition to the marriage course’. Anna & Shaun

I was so pleased to discover that CTS had published ‘Cherishing your Wedding’ by Kerry Urdzik. In the UK there seems to be a real shortage of marriage preparation resources which are at the same time faithful to all aspects of the teaching of the Church, easy to read, practical and spiritual. The book is beautifully written and beautifully designed. It is a pleasure to use. At a time when many marriages are in difficulties I hope and pray that many couples who are preparing to make a commitment in love to God and each other in Holy Matrimony will find their relationship greatly enriched by this book.
