Are you a budding or professional writer who would like to help us in our mission to help people grow in the Catholic faith? Would you like to get your name and writing in front of a ready-made audience? We’d love for you to submit an article or pitch an idea you’d like to write for Living Catholic Truth.

Here’s some important information to know first:

General Submission Guidelines

We are looking for 1000-1500-word essays which are relatable and helpful for the everyday Catholic looking to grow in their Catholic faith.
We do not accept AI-generated content, in whole or in part. You may use AI tools to assist you with spelling and grammar, such as Grammarly.
Your submission must be ready to post. We won’t send it back for revisions.
We do not accept posts that have been published elsewhere, except on your own personal Substack or blog.
We will not look through your personal Substack to find content we like, so please don’t just send us a link to your Substack and ask us to choose. If you would like us to publish something from your Substack, choose a piece that you think most conforms to Living Catholic Truth, and then adapt it to suit our writing guidelines before submitting.
We are unable to offer payment for articles that aren’t commissioned by us. However, there is a possibility of becoming a paid contributor if we start taking articles from you regularly in the future. In the meantime, we can provide you with great exposure by sharing your work outside Substack with our social media followers and email subscribers. Collectively, that’s around 70,000 people who might see your work.
Please familiarise yourself with our posts and our Substack mission before submitting. Not every Catholic article would be a good fit for Living Catholic Truth.
It should go without saying, but we won’t publish anything that contradicts the teachings of the Catholic Church, speaks negatively of the Pope, the Vatican or anyone else or which intentionally and unnecessarily courts controversy. We don’t publish clickbait or ragebait.
After submitting, please give us time to read your submission. We will get back to you as quickly as we can, so please don’t send follow-up emails.

Writing Guidelines

Please submit your documents in .doc or .docx format.
Capitalise “He”, “Him”, and “His” when referring to God.
Use British English (e.g. organise, labour, centre, and St or Bl instead of St. or Bl.) and double quotation marks.
Keep citations simple and inline rather than using footnotes. For example (Matt 5:8), (CCC 1234) or (EG7).
Please verify the accuracy of all quotes (especially when taken from AI) with the source material.
You’re welcome to suggest titles and free-to-use, non-AI-generated images, but ultimately the final decision for titles and images rests with us. Titles may be changed after publishing.
