In 1858, CTS was founded by Cardinal Vaughan to dispel the prejudice and ignorance of Catholicism that had grown out of centuries of Catholic persecution. As new opportunities emerged, both politically and technologically, CTS seized the growing power of print and communications, eager to help the Catholic community living in the shadows.

In our own day, as new technologies emerge, CTS continues to embrace new ways of nurturing the faith of British Catholics. With an ever-growing online presence, we can now add to the resources we offer not only reliable and informative Catholic books, but various and growing forms of digital evangelisation and formation.
