The CTS Advent Appeal

As the world lurches from one crisis to another in 2022 we can take comfort in the famous Carthusian motto: The Cross is steady while the world turns. Despite political turmoil, inflation and the cost of living crisis, Christ’s message remains ever relevant and our work at CTS to spread that Good News continues. Because of the generosity of our donors, the imagination and hard work of our staff and the careful administration of our management board, we have been able to spread Our Lord’s message of hope to those who need it most, both at home and all over the world. With the help of your donations and prayers, we look forward to continuing to do this with new partners and in new ways during 2023.

As a publishing charity, CTS relies on the support of our benefactors. Every penny donated helps to create and distribute inspiring, beautiful and informative books, leaflets, podcasts and courses proclaiming the Gospel. Please consider giving generously to support us in this vital mission.

All of us at CTS pray daily for our benefactors and their intentions.

Wishing you and your loved ones every blessing this Christmas!

Spreading the Word at Home and Abroad

“Many thanks for the way you are looking after our charity. The books will make a big difference to so many peoples lives.”

– Tony Smith, Chairman, Krizevac Project

In 2022 we partnered with the Krizevac Project in Malawi, which runs a school and training college outside the southern city of Chilomoni. We prepared the biggest ever shipment of CTS titles for donation overseas: more than 40,000 new and remaindered prayerbooks, biographies and Church documents. It has been a great joy to see our books in use in such a wonderful environment.

Prison Giveaways

Due to your generous donations, we have been able to equip over 40 prison chaplaincies across the country with Sunday Missals, bibles and calendars. The passage of time in a prison setting presents very particular challenges and the sanctification of time through the Church’s feasts and seasons, as well as the opportunity to meditate daily with the Word of God, nourishes the growth in faith of inmates and prison workers alike.

Your generous gift will enable us to share:

A Catholic Handbook for School Student

Over the years CTS and the Association for Catholic Women have been running writing competitions for schools on a wide range of aspects of the faith. Students from schools across the country have written wonderful pieces of work on the Mass and the saints showcasing our Catholic Schools at their best.

This year the members of the ACW together with the CTS have been developing a superb resource for 2023 and beyond called Looking Ahead. This book, which would make an ideal gift for young people leaving primary school, is a beautifully designed and produced almanac of prayers, questions and answers, stories of Catholic saints and scientists and advice on how to develop a young faith in an ever changing world.
