Just beautiful! The colors are gorgeous, pictures are detailed- so many things for children to look at. The best $4 I think I have ever spent a child's religious book. My 2.5 year old son "read" this once, then- the hallmark of child delight and and something benefiting their development- repeat- read it again probably for 20 min total and probably would have started a 3rd time had we been able. Tells the story of Jesus respectfully (didn't find anything inaccurate, drawings are not cartoonish, it's just filled with love). She renders the emotions in the faces so realistically- on the page where Jesus has been taken down from the cross my 2.5 year old said "Mary is sad" Interestingly Mary is unveiled until the moment of her marriage to St. Joseph, and btw, the book presents him very well there's none of the account of his being troubled and first and contemplating putting Mary away, it simply says on the marriage page something along the lines that he knew that she was carrying God's son. If you on the fence on this one like I was for a while, just do it- get the book! This author/illustrator is amazing! Her books are treasures.
edit: I have to add that my four year old, when he was pretending to say mass today, gave a "sermon" and added "I learned that from my Jesus book" (i.e. this one!) Just can't say enough about this book :)
